  • This work depicts a magnificent hemlock located in Parc du Mont-Bellevue in Sherbrooke, Eastern Townships (Quebec) on the verge of becoming a university nature reserve. In the fall of 2021, we went as often to meet the light and the trees. This one looked especially beautiful when it lay on the ground showing off its gorgeous roots.

The original work Et voyons où cela nous portera ces ailes... the tree could leave the forest with these wings but yet it decides to stay in the forest. Found at the edge of the forest and made by wasps from spring to summer with bark, stumps, pieces of wood crushed by their mandibles, wasps transform these plant materials with their saliva. The mixture of colors, the solidity opposed to the fragility is here suggested.

    Frame size: 25 x 36 in / 63.5 x 91.5 cm

Museum (archive) quality pigment print on 100% cotton paper with a velvety, lightly textured matte finish.

Sculptural intervention made of plant material made by wasps.

The work is framed in a white shaddow box frame with ArtGlass AR70 anti-reflective glass.

"Et voyons où cela nous portera ces ailes...", 2021.
