  • This grandiose pine stands in the yard of a school in Dunham, Eastern Townships (Quebec). While the children were having fun all around, he quietly watched over them. When printing in large format, the head of an eagle appeared to us by the branch on the left at the very top of the trunk photographed from a low angle.

     

    The original work L'échelle de Jacob n'est pas une balançoire is composed of a photographic image and a sculptural intervention in ebony wood and natural fibres. Jacob's Ladder in sacred writings represents the link between Heaven and Earth. Annick de Souzenelle, researcher and writer offers an in-depth reading of the ladder as the image of our life, from crawling the human being must learn to stand upright during his life, the ladder represents our spine.
